Act Da Fool is a weird little short by famous weirdo Harmony Korine, I am actually a big fan of Harmony, but I still have no idea how his thought process works, most people probably know him for his work on Larry Clark’s ‘Kids’ but Harmony has been consistently releasing weird little things over the last few years that have sunk under the radar.
Act Da Fool is one of those things and to put it bluntly, this feels like an afternoon project, in the sense that this entire short feels like it was created in a few hours. It just feels really rushed and really quite boring at times, I feel like Act Da Fool is harmony’s own inner thoughts and fears about the universe but hidden in away under a blanket. Act Da Fool is a lacklustre attempt by a very talented Director/ Writer/ Person who does a lot of things, better luck next time Harmony. Act Da Fool is a 4/10.
In 2016 i will be watching 365 films (yes, i know there are 366 days this year) and writing about how I felt about them, I decided to do this just because over the last year or so i’ve Sort of pulled away from film and I wanna start to enjoy watching movies again. This will normally be just notes I made or thoughts I have about the film.
